Python Developer

About the Role: Talemexa is seeking a skilled Python Developer to develop APIs, backend services, and data-driven features that support its hiring products. In this role, you will build scalable applications using Python frameworks such as Django or FastAPI, design efficient database structures, integrate external services, and maintain reliable background processing systems. The ideal candidate has at least three years of Python development experience, practical knowledge of PostgreSQL, and a strong understanding of REST API development. You should be comfortable writing automated tests, participating in code reviews, using Git for version control, and troubleshooting backend applications. Familiarity with Celery or Redis is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services using Python. Build web applications and APIs using Django, FastAPI, or other relevant Python frameworks. Design and maintain database schemas that support reliable data storage and efficient retrieval. Work with PostgreSQL to create queries, manage data relationships, and improve database performance. Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to support internal applications and external systems. Integrate third-party APIs and services into existing hiring products and workflows. Write automated unit tests and integration tests to maintain application quality and reliability. Use Git for version control and participate in code reviews to ensure clean, maintainable code. Develop, execute, and monitor background jobs and asynchronous processing tasks. Work with tools such as Celery and Redis to support task queues, caching, and background processing where required. Troubleshoot bugs, investigate application issues, and implement effective technical solutions. Optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability. Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver product features. Maintain technical documentation and follow established coding standards and development best practices. Qualifications and Experience 3+ years of professional experience in Python development. Strong knowledge of Python programming and backend application development. Hands-on experience with Django or FastAPI.Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs. Practical experience working with PostgreSQL and relational database concepts. Familiarity with Git, version control workflows, and collaborative code reviews. Experience writing automated tests and debugging application issues. Understanding of asynchronous processing and background job management. Familiarity with Celery or Redis is an advantage. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a development team and manage assigned tasks effectively.
