This isn't transactional retail; it's about connecting people to the right gear, providing expert ski, snowboard, and bike services, and creating a reason to come back.The ideal candidate should have a passion for outdoor activities and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Backcountry Outlet is seeking a highly motivated and organized Retail Store Assistant Manager to assist our Retail Manager in the daily operations of our brick-and-mortar retail store. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the outdoors and have experience in retail management, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.This role is challenging above and beyond the day-to-day responsibilities, you'll have a big role within a fast-paced team.This position will report into the Retail Store Manager.What You'll Do:Assist the Store Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the retail store, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and customer serviceEnsure that the store is always clean, organized and well-stockedAssist the Store Manager in opening and closing the storeEnsure the store is properly secured and alarm systems are functioning correctlyManage cash and credit card transactions, and perform daily cash reconciliationsMaintain accurate inventory levels, conduct regular inventory audits, and report any discrepancies to the store managerTrain and supervise retail staff to ensure they are knowledgeable about all processes and the products we sell and provide exceptional customer serviceProtect store assets following loss prevention and safety standardsDevelop and maintain relationships with customers to build customer loyalty and repeat businessAssist in the development and implementation of marketing and promotional activities to increase salesWhat You Bring:2-3 years of experience in retail managementPassion for outdoor activities and knowledge of outdoor gear and apparelExcellent communication and customer service skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple prioritiesStrong leadership and team management skillsKnowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and visual merchandisingProficiency in Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systemsAbility to work flexible hours, including holidays, evenings and weekendsPhysical Requirements:Ability to communicate verbally and work cooperatively with associates and customersAbility to remain standing for up to 5 hours at a timeAbility to move about the store coaching and directing associates; selling to customers and retrieving merchandise from stockroom or sales floorAbility to grab, reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to retrieve and replenish merchandise from stockroom or sales floorAbility to lift and/or move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.Ability to ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and/or move merchandiseAbility to operate a computer, POS system, keyboards, merchandise scanners and mouse to accomplish workWorkweeks are expected to be between 46 and 48 hours with the ability to have a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidaysRegular and predictable attendanceThe CSC family of brands provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, provincial, state or local laws.The CSC family of brands is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities in our job application procedures.
