Job DescriptionJob Title: CDL Driver, CDL-A (Alpharetta, GA)Local - Home Every Night!* **Must live within a commutable distance to Alpharetta, GA**Reports To: Fleet ManagerThis job description describes the minimum job requirements. Incumbents will be expected to follow additional instructions and perform other related duties as required.Purpose of the Position/Job Summary:The Class A CDL Truck Driver will be responsible for operating vehicles and equipment, transporting company inventory, inspecting and adjusting loads on trucks, loading and unloading all equipment, materials, tools, etc., and maintaining accurate reports and documentation. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively communicate with other drivers, superintendents, and vendors to schedule and execute the tasks efficiently and safely. Hours per day may vary but occasional extended hours and weekend hours may be necessary. This position requires a CDL Class A Driver’s License.Essential Functions:While operating all vehicles and equipment drivers must abide by all the safety policies and state / local traffic laws. Driver will work with other drivers and coordinators pick-up and drop-off locations, material, equipment and implements daily. Use route navigation apps and knowledge of Atlanta area. Daily Pre/Post Trip Inspections of every vehicle they are required to operate. Drive in inclement weather, such as rain. Notifying company mechanics of major equipment repairs. Repairing minor equipment problems. Maintaining organized, clean and safe vehicles and environment. Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible. Find ways to conserve resources, including fuel to benefit the business. Comply with all DOT and in-house regulations and rules. Job Specification (Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically required for competent performance in the job):Understanding of DOT requirements for Truck Drivers, and be able to demonstrate skills. Strong Communication SkillsTeam-building QualitiesDesire for Ongoing Training – web-based, or hands-onReliable, Disciplined, flexible, dependable. Detail oriented, work responsibly under minimal supervisionAbility to operate various vehicles with or without trailers. Ability to operate various lawn care machinery. Supervisory Responsibility: This job has no supervisory responsibility.Minimum Qualifications:Valid Class A CDL (we will help you get tanker endorsement)High School diploma / GED required. Must be at least 21 years old. No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 yearsNo DWI / DUI in last 10 yearsMust have the physical ability to climb in and out of all types of vehicles and equipment, multiple times per day. Must be physically capable of performing all duties related to the position, physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, stooping, sitting, climbing low to high heights, jogging, and walking, all multiple times per day.
