Junior Developer

We are seeking a motivated Junior PHP Developer to join our team and help modernize our internal CRM platform. Our application is actively being migrated to CodeIgniter 4, providing an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with both legacy and modern PHP applications. You will work closely with senior developers and report directly to the Director of Technology while contributing to meaningful projects that impact daily business operations. Responsibilities Assist in modernizing legacy PHP applications using CodeIgniter 4 Help refactor existing code into a maintainable MVC architecture Develop and maintain internal CRM features and functionality Support REST API integrations and development Work with MySQL/MariaDB databases to improve application performance Troubleshoot bugs and resolve issues in production systems Participate in code reviews and collaborative development efforts Learn and contribute to architectural improvements and new feature development Support business automation and operational workflow enhancements Required Qualifications 1–2 years of professional PHP development experience (or equivalent internship/project experience) Basic experience with PHP frameworks such as CodeIgniter, Laravel, or similar MVC frameworks Understanding of object-oriented programming principles Familiarity with MySQL or MariaDB databases Experience working with REST APIs Basic Git version control knowledge Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Eagerness to learn and work within complex business systems Nice to Have Experience with CodeIgniter or CodeIgniter 4 Exposure to legacy PHP applications JavaScript and jQuery experience React or Vue experience Familiarity with Node.js and NPM Basic Linux command-line experience Exposure to Agile development processes or Jira Interest in application modernization and software architecture What You'll Gain Hands-on experience modernizing a large-scale business application Mentorship from experienced developers Exposure to modern PHP development practices and architecture Experience working with APIs, databases, and business automation systems Opportunities for technical growth and career advancement If you're a developer who enjoys learning, solving problems, and improving existing systems, we'd love to hear from you.
