Product Development Engineer – Supplier Engineering & Technology
This is a Hybrid onsite (3 days/week in office, regular shift), contract role in Fremont, CA OR Livermore, CA.Top Skills (Must have):Supplier Development & Supplier QualityProduct Development Lifecycle (NPI / Manufacturing Transfer / Material Selection)Mechanical Design & Engineering DrawingsJob Description:Part of SET, a global organization driving innovation in manufacturing technology, materials, and supply chain quality for next-generation semiconductor equipment.This role leads supplier development, program/project execution, and cross-functional alignment for key Supplier Engineering & Technology (SET) initiatives.Impact you'll make / What you'll doDrive supplier development to meet quality standards and lead product transitions from prototype to production.Manage project execution, resource planning, and technical alignment across cross functional teams.Serve as the SET interface with product groups, account teams, operations, and global commodity leaders.Influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives and drive continuous improvement.Lead supplier engineering teams and own key internal/external review forums.Who we're looking forBachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace, Electrical/Controls/Mechatronics, Industrial/Manufacturing) or equivalent experience.Strong understanding of engineering design fundamentals and ability to interpret technical drawings.Experience with NPI/product lifecycle, DFM, and pilot builds.Proficient in SPC, capability analysis, FMEAs, and quality metrics (e.g., Cpk).Demonstrated first-principles/knowledge applied to mechanical design and material selection/analysis.Experience with industry design standards relative to mechanical, electrical, EMC and safety.Skilled in problem-solving and project execution using structured methods (e.g., 8D/RCCA).Able to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.Detail-oriented with strong quality focus and effective written/verbal communication (English).Preferred qualificationsMaster's degree with focus in valve engineering (control valve sizing/selection, fluid dynamics, sealing, tolerancing, failure analysis, and vacuum technologies/controls) or equivalent experience.Semiconductor manufacturing knowledge preferred but not required.Minimum 3 years of AutoCAD design/drafting experience with proficiency in AutoCAD tools.Our Client is a Fortune 350 company that engages in the design, manufacturing, marketing, and service of semiconductor processing equipment.
