Financial Controller
The Controller will lead and manage all financial functions of the bank, ensuring strong financial health, adherence to regulatory requirements, and support for long-term business growth. This role serves as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board of Directors, particularly in areas of financial risk, capital planning, and overall fiscal strategy.Key Responsibilities1. Financial Strategy & LeadershipDrive the development and implementation of the bank’s financial strategy in alignment with organizational objectivesProvide strategic financial insights to executive leadership to support planning and growth initiativesContribute to mergers, acquisitions, and investment evaluations2. Financial Reporting & ComplianceEnsure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual)Oversee preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS standardsMaintain compliance with all applicable banking regulations, including capital and liquidity requirementsAct as a key point of contact for regulators, auditors, and rating agencies3. Risk ManagementOversee monitoring of financial risks, including credit, market, and liquidity exposuresPartner with the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to strengthen risk management frameworksEnsure effective internal controls and financial governance practices are in place4. Capital & Liquidity ManagementManage capital planning and adequacy in line with Basel III and stress testing requirementsLead liquidity management strategies and funding planningOptimize balance sheet efficiency and performance5. Treasury & Investment OversightOversee treasury operations, including cash management and funding activitiesManage investment portfolios and monitor interest rate riskSupervise asset-liability management (ALM) processes6. Budgeting & ForecastingLead the annual budgeting cycle and long-term financial planning effortsAnalyze financial performance and identify key variancesDeliver accurate forecasts to support strategic decision-making7. Cost Optimization & Operational EfficiencyIdentify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvementsMonitor and manage organizational expenses to enhance efficiency8. Stakeholder EngagementPresent financial insights and performance updates to the Board and investorsBuild and maintain strong relationships with regulators, analysts, and shareholdersQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5–8+ years of accounting/finance experience (banking strongly preferred)5+ years of Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC), AML, or BSA experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP, regulatory reporting, and internal controlsProven Leadership, Communication and Investor Relations Management skills
