PL/SQL Programmer Analyst

Description of PositionThe individual will develop varied solutions working with functional end-users, database admin, programmer/analysts, and other IT professionals in developing and supporting the business systems. The position participates in life cycle application deployment to meet the client's enterprise needs, including design, development, testing, assistance to non-senior developers, code review of peers, integration, and implementation. Specifically, this position will:Design and develop automated and user-run processes to meet the client's needs. Implement additional software functionality and minor modifications to existing software, to meet the needs of functional offices.Troubleshoot problems with the Banner ERP system, other 3rd party applications, and custom designed software. Assist in identifying data integrity issues and software design issues.Write and/or modify reports as needed by functional users. Assist functional users in the development and maintenance of reports.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrated knowledge of relational databases and programming withPL/SQL with the ability to develop reports, created embedded functions and build enhancements to systems.Knowledge of Banner or a similar ERP system, with demonstrated skills in systems analysis, application design and programming. Specific Knowledge in HR, Finance and/or Financial Aid preferred.Knowledge of full life-cycle development, with strong planning & project management skills and the ability to work on a project through the full life cycle.Extensive experience with Oracle SQL and various other database environments including SQL server, MySQL, PostgreSQL & LDAP.Excellent interpersonal, oral & written communication skills with the demonstrated ability to interface with a variety of customers and provide a high level of service and work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple projects while sustaining daily operations.Knowledge of web applications programming and the use of API's.Gather data via interviews and other activities to analyze and design new or modify existing computer projects.Develop project implementation and testing specifications including project security and control procedures and backup/recovery plans.Prepare program specifications; resolve problems; review results.Document projects and modifications including documentation for user departments; fulfill administrative reporting requirements.Research system software problems & organize support to resolve problems.Train systems users in one-on-one or group sessions.Attend training as required to maintain, upgrade and acquire new skills.Perform related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSExperience in systems analysis, application design & application programming.Experience in database programming with PL/SQL is required.Experience working on moderately complex IT projects with technical responsibilities.Experience in a higher education IT environment.Prefer a working knowledge of ColdFusion, Java, Argos, Power BI or otherSkills in using Linux and Windows operating system.Education/Training and Experience Required/Preferred
