Senior Director, Product Management

Role OverviewBleacher Report is seeking a Senior Director of Product Management to lead the strategic development and execution of our automation and personalization services and platforms. This leader will drive innovation across our web, mobile app, social platforms, and emerging channels, empowering our editorial systems to program efficiently at scale while delivering hyper-personalized experiences to millions of sports fans globally. As Senior Director of Product Management, you will define the long‑term vision and near‑term roadmap for the systems and services that power content discovery, curation, distribution, and personalization across Bleacher Report’s entire ecosystem. You’ll lead a team responsible for building intelligent automation, machine learning‑driven personalization, real‑time content streaming, and sophisticated capabilities that allow our creators to focus on making great content, not wrestling with tools.ResponsibilitiesExecute a multi‑year product strategy for automation and personalization services that supports Bleacher Report’s position as the #1 sports publisher for social‑first, mobile‑first audiences.Drive the evolution of recommendation and personalization workflows to support rapid content creation, curation, and distribution.Lead the integration of AI/ML technologies to power content personalization, real‑time trending topic detection, automated content enrichment tagging, and intelligent distribution across channels.Build and scale automated content delivery pipelines that intelligently route content to appropriate platforms and audiences.Define product requirements for personalized alert and notification technologies that curate personalized content from all sources.Champion mobile‑first and social‑first product development, ensuring our tools and services are optimized for the workflows of modern sports media creators.Drive the development of real‑time streaming capabilities that allow Bleacher Report to break news faster than competitors and keep fans engaged during live sporting events.Build sophisticated personalization systems that deliver hyper‑relevant content.Define requirements for machine learning and recommendation algorithms—ensuring fans see the stories, videos, and updates most relevant to them.Implement A/B testing frameworks and experimentation methodologies to continuously optimize content performance, engagement, and retention across platforms.Partner with data science teams to leverage behavioral data, social signals, and real‑time trends to inform content programming decisions and automated editorial workflows.Drive the development of predictive analytics that help editorial teams understand what content will resonate before it’s published.Build and lead a high‑performing product management organization focused on sports media, content platforms, and personalization technologies.Mentor and develop product managers at all levels, establishing best practices for requirements gathering, user research, prioritization, and stakeholder collaboration.Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and fan‑centricity, ensuring the team deeply understands sports fan behavior and consumption patterns.Work closely with engineering leadership to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, including platform architecture, APIs, and distributed systems.Collaborate with data science and ML engineering teams to embed intelligence into content recommendation, trending topic detection, and automated programming systems.Partner with editorial leadership, social media teams, and content creators to understand workflows, pain points, and opportunities for tool improvement.Engage with analytics teams to establish measurement frameworks for content performance, engagement, and personalization effectiveness.QualificationsRequired10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years of people management experience.Proven track record leading large‑scale platform initiatives in digital media, sports, social platforms, or content publishing industries.Expertise in content management systems, publishing workflows, and multi‑platform content distribution.Strong understanding of personalization algorithms, recommendation systems, and machine learning applications in consumer products.Experience building products for mobile‑first and social‑first audiences, with deep knowledge of modern content consumption behaviors.Demonstrated ability to define and execute transformative product visions that drive measurable business outcomes including engagement, retention, and time‑spent metrics.Exceptional strategic thinking combined with strong execution capabilities and bias for action.Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with experience presenting to C‑suite executives and managing diverse stakeholder groups across editorial, creative, and technical organizations.Experience building and scaling high‑performing teams in fast‑paced, dynamic environments.PreferredPassion for sports and deep understanding of sports fan behavior, consumption patterns, and fan culture.Experience with real‑time content platforms, breaking news systems, and live event coverage.Knowledge of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices for distributed content.Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks, experimentation platforms, and performance optimization methodologies.Understanding of video streaming, editorial, aggregation, advertising, and multimedia content systems.Experience with analytics tools (Looker, Tableau, ComScore, Nielsen) and data‑driven decision making.Technical depth sufficient to collaborate effectively with engineering, data science, and ML teams on platform architecture and requirements.Background in agile methodologies, modern PDLC & SDLC processes.Experience working with content creators, editorial teams, and creative professionals.BenefitsPay range: $196,000.00 – $364,000.00 per year.
