Job Description
Key responsibilitiesBathe, dry, and brush dogs of various sizes and breeds, ensuring specific client requests are met.Perform basic grooming tasks, such as trimming nails, cleaning ears, and brushing out coats.Monitor dogs for skin conditions, parasites, or other health issues and report any concerns to a supervisor or groomer.Assist professional groomers with haircuts and other services.Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by cleaning and disinfecting bathing areas and tools.Provide comfort and reassurance to anxious or nervous pets.Communicate professionally with pet owners about their pet's services and needs, and document important information in customer records. Physical demands and work environmentPhysical activity: The role requires standing for long periods, walking, reaching, and using hands to handle dogs.Lifting: Frequent lifting of animals up to 50 pounds and occasional team-lifting of heavier animals is necessary.Environment: Work is in a grooming salon or pet store environment, which involves exposure to water, pet hair, and noise.Skills: Requires the ability to work in a fast-paced setting and have strong physical stamina. QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Proven experience in dog bathing and grooming or a willingness to learn through training programs or apprenticeships.Strong customer service and communication skills.Patience and a calming presence with animals.Basic knowledge of dog breeds and grooming needs.Familiarity with grooming tools and safety protocols. ** Must be able to work FT. 9am - Close (4:30) Tue - Sat
