The Project Estimator is responsible for deciding the projected time frame needed to complete a project and additional factors such as labor needs, materials, budgets and potential setbacks. The Project Estimator analyzes project plans and specifications and collaborates with contractors, vendors, accountants and operations personnel to provide the most accurate and comprehensive financial and budget analysis to support successful project execution.Essential Functions include but are not limited to:Analyze plans, specifications, proposals, and other contract documents to determine the overall project scope and project requirementsReview bid requirements for projects ensuring all aspects of the project are documented and accounted forPrepare accurate cost estimates, including labor hours, material pricing, and subcontractor costsIdentify potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving measuresResearching, sourcing, negotiating and obtaining best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractorsIdentify, manage, and maintain relationships with subcontractors, ensuring bids are completed in a timely manner, thoroughly, and accuratelyIdentify and submit required project documentation and notify other departmentsAttend pre-bid meetings and site visits as neededPrepare and submit bid proposals and supporting documentationCollaborate with project managers and field leadership during preconstruction and handoffMaintain organized estimate files, bid logs, and historical cost dataTrack bid results and analyze performance to improve future estimatesCompetencies:Self-starter, highly motivated to bring results and success to projectsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documentsDetail oriented with strong organizational and multi-tasking skillsExcellent verbal, written and collaborative communications abilitiesStrong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skillsTime management skills with the ability to meet deadlinesEducation and Experience: College degree preferred but not requiredAt least 5 years of project estimating experience requiredExperience working with estimating software programs (Ex.
