Chemical Process Engineer

About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Engineer to provide expert support at our advanced manufacturing and chemical processing facility. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in process safety management (PSM) and chemical process troubleshooting to optimize operations and ensure regulatory compliance. Your contributions will be vital to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Provide daily technical support for manufacturing and chemical operations, focusing on enhancing efficiency and safety. Lead the design and implementation of new or modified systems, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Apply engineering principles to identify root causes of system failures and implement effective resolutions. Validate process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and process control requirements to maintain system integrity. Participate in process hazard analyses (PHA) and implement recommendations to mitigate facility hazards. Analyze and recommend innovative technologies in materials, machinery, and chemical processing to resolve complex manufacturing challenges. Develop advanced methods in materials, equipment, and process designs to improve overall performance. Conduct engineering calculations, including mass and energy balances, to support equipment and process designs. Qualifications: Required Skills B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting processes and equipment to resolve operational issues. Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in a chemical plant environment. Proficiency in process simulation software such as ChemCAD or ASPEN. Preferred Skills In-depth knowledge of PSM/RMP regulations and process hazard analysis techniques. Strong teamwork skills, including both leadership and participatory roles in collaborative projects.
