Quality Control Technician

Our client, a manufacturing company in Doraville, is hiring a Quality Control Technician II.This role is on site 5 days a week.Reporting to the Quality Engineering Manager, the Quality Control Technician II is responsible for supporting operations by performing in-process and finished goods inspections across a broad epoxy portfolio. The technician ensures all testing complies with engineering standards (ASTM, ISO), customer specifications, and internal requirements.This role also supports incoming raw material inspection, shelf-life extension, research and development, inventory management, continuous improvement, and safety initiatives. This is a hands-on laboratory role requiring daily preparation of adhesively bonded assemblies and destructive testing.Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain and promote a high degree of workplace professionalismWork safely with various chemicals and formulations using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)Collaborate and communicate effectively with staff and management to ensure timely delivery of test resultsDemonstrate excellent attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindsetOperate digital balances, compressed gas cylinders, and basic laboratory equipmentMachine parts using a band saw, grinding wheel, mill, and other tools per customer requirementsPrepare adhesively bonded assemblies according to customer drawings and specificationsDetermine mechanical strength of adhesive assemblies using universal test frames (compression, shear, and peel)Perform flammability testing using burn chambersEvaluate application characteristics of adhesives using viscometers, slump jigs, extruders, and rheometersConduct physical inspections including density, durometer hardness, and fineness of grindAnalyze and interpret test data and respond to trendsSupport in-process inspections and coordinate key manufacturing processesInspect incoming raw materials to ensure suitability for productionMaintain accurate records including date, product name, batch number, sample number, and test results using basic softwareSupport continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and customer satisfactionParticipate in Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activitiesSkills and QualificationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively within a diverse team and independentlyStrong multitasking and prioritization skillsComfortable working in a chemical laboratory environment and performing tests per material specificationsBasic mathematical proficiencyProficient in basic computer applications (MS Office: Outlook, Excel, Word) and ability to learn testing softwareAdaptability to changing daily workloads
