CDL Class A Truck Driver with 6

Performance Foodservice is seeking a safe, reliable CDL Class A Truck Driver to support our Food & Beverage Operations within the Transportation & Logistics department. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely, accurate, and professional delivery of food and food-related products to a wide range of customers, including family-owned restaurants and nationwide chains. You will operate late-model tractor-trailers and refrigerated equipment, performing local and regional routes that require frequent stops, product unloading with hand trucks or lift gates, and direct interaction with customers at their place of business. As a key representative of Performance Foodservice, you will ensure all products are delivered according to schedule, verified against invoices, and handled in a food-safe manner that maintains product quality and integrity. You will conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections; comply with all DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and company safety policies; and maintain accurate logs and delivery documentation using onboard computer systems or electronic logging devices. The position requires consistent attention to safe driving practices in urban, suburban, and rural environments, including backing into tight docks, navigating congested delivery areas, and operating material-handling equipment. You will work collaboratively with dispatchers, warehouse teams, and sales staff to resolve delivery issues, manage shorted or damaged product, and provide feedback from customers that supports our team-oriented, innovation-driven culture. Drivers are expected to demonstrate strong customer service skills, professional communication, and a positive, solutions-focused attitude at every stop. This physical role involves frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of product cases that may exceed 50 lbs, as well as working in varied weather conditions and temperature-controlled environments. Candidates should have a valid CDL Class A license, a clean driving record, and prior experience in foodservice or route delivery preferred. In return, Performance Foodservice offers competitive pay, excellent benefits, and opportunities for long-term growth within a company that values safety, reliability, and exceptional customer service.
