TechnicianJOA Surveys LLC, is an Anchorage based land surveying and geospatial firm, specializing in water-level and geodetic services. We are recruiting an organized, responsible, and positive Entry-level Technician who is either currently enrolled in a technical degree program or recently graduated in a related field.The position is based at our Anchorage warehouse, to assist in the shop, in the field, and data analysis. You will be an essential part of the team, contributing fieldwork, office-based tasks, and shop tasks, under the direct supervision of the Shop Supervisor, and Project Managers.Employment: Full-time, Seasonal, Temporary (Must be available from May-October)Period of Employment: ASAP - October 31stWages: $18.00 - $21.00/hour DOE'Key ResponsibilitiesPackaging equipment, delivering shipments to the airport, picking up returned shipments, and organizing gear within the shop to maintain seamless operationsKeep company truck clean and ready for operation (truck oil/fluids checked, tire pressure checked, oil changes etc)Perform routine maintenance on equipment ( check tripod bubbles, peg test levels, cobra maintenance, battery test/charging, etc)Organize the shop and keep tidy as gear is constantly coming and goingExpedite materials to local stores and service businessesResponsibilities (Based on Skill, Interest, and Experience)In the field you will assist setting up surveying equipment, and troubleshooting reportsIn the office you will help with writing benchmark descriptions, to be published in the National Ocean Service Online DatabaseAssist field crews with equipment deployment and recoverySupport basic data handling and reporting tasksWelding and metal fabricationCarpentry and woodworkingIdeal Candidate ProfileInterest in electronics, science, engineering, or mechanical systemsHands-on experience with tools, equipment, or construction preferredStrong attention to detail and organization skillsSelf-motivated and reliable, with willingness to learnPositive attitude and ability to contribute to a team environmentMust have a valid driver's license with a clean record that meets company insurance requirementsCompany CultureAt JOA Surveys, we value teamwork, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
