Recycling Processor
We have a full-time position available for a recycling processor position. Our company is a leader in recycling residential asphalt shingles, waste tires, and waste wood materials. We are looking for someone that would like to learn a new set of skills in the recycling industry. This is an entry level position that will allow an individual to advance within our company. We will provide onsite safety and health training. Along with equipment operating training.
Job Description:
Employee processes and sorts recyclable residential asphalt shingles, waste tires, metals (ferrous & non ferrous) and waste wood materials so that they can be beneficially reused and marketed as commodities. Sorting of the recyclables will be done manually or mechanically using equipment such as a conveyor belt or skid steer with a hydraulic grapple.
Responsibilities:
Sorts materials off of the conveyor belt / sorting line.
Operates the conveying equipment.
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance activities to ensure smooth operation of the processing equipment.
Capable of learning how to operate a skid steer with grapple.
Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on the equipment.
Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, clean, lubricate and refill the equipment as necessary.
Operate all processing equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
Demonstrate an understanding of operational requirements as set forth by the company.
Safety:
Attend daily, weekly or monthly safety meetings.
Promote safety by executing and adhering to the company’s safety program.
Wear required personal protective equipment as required by the company.
Company will provide uniforms, safety boots and the required personal protective equipment for performing the required recycling activities.
Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself or endanger the well being of others.
Teamwork:
Participate as a vital team member and contribute towards the success of the company.
Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees and management to exchange information and offer ideas.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D preferred.
Must be 18 year or older.
Valid driver’s license. Class D minimum required.
Must be able to lift occasionally 60 lb’s, chest high.
Must be physically capable of lifting, carrying, push / pulling recyclable materials.
Must be able to stand approximately 8 – 12 hours per day while sorting materials.
Possess a positive “can do” attitude.
Have a sense of urgency to meeting daily goal’s.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an outdoor setting or within 3 sided enclosures which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
Use of Personal Protective Equipment is required (provided by company).
Occasional out of town work may or may not be required. Seasonal offsite processing. Company pay’s all expense’s and costs associated with being out of town. Usually work is conducted in Wisconsin within 200 miles of Delafield.
