Tax Manager
The Company
Parkwood LLC is a private financial services company based in Cleveland, Ohio. Employing about 60 people, Parkwood and its wholly-owned subsidiary, the Parkwood Trust Company, serve the interest of the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel families, their associated trusts, partnerships, foundation and other entities. Parkwood and the Parkwood Trust Company offer a full array of trust company services including investment management, trust administration, charitable planning, multi-generational tax and estate planning, accounting, tax return preparation, assistance with legal matters and other professional services.
The Position
Responsible for the timely and accurate filing of all Federal, state, local and international tax returns for Parkwood and its Clients; review of tax projections and workpapers; review of tax return positions; management of audit defense and other related tax services; and the development of Tax Analysts.
Responsibilities
· Review and file all Federal, state, local and international tax returns, reports and tax payments for Parkwood and its clients.
· Meets all due dates for assigned tax returns and payments.
· Review tax workpapers used to complete the preparation of the various tax returns and estimated tax payments.
· Develop and train Tax Staff.
· Communicate with investment fund managers to gather estimate and K-1 information.
· Update the tax calendar as returns are filed and tasks are completed.
· Research and analyze tax issues that arise in the tax preparation process for Parkwood and its Clients.
· Respond to IRS and state income tax authorities regarding audit requests and notices.
· Serve on Tax Process Committee.
· Assists in the training of all Tax staff in the use of Go-Systems and return import processes.
· Determines how Go-Systems is treating tax law changes within the software and how to best configure the software to treat it properly.
Background and Work Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
· CPA required
· 8-10 years of tax experience
· Individual tax experience required
· Partnership tax experience required
· Experience working with appropriate tax preparation software
· “Big 4” or Regional public accounting firm experience preferred
