Based in Annapolis, MD, the company is committed to sustainable practices and growing orgainic food while fostering a deep connection with nature. Maidstone harvest facilities work in acordance to the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act. While prioritizing eco-friendly techniques (ie. no till, cover crop, crop rotation, composting, water-wise, IPM) , regenerative farming, agroforestry, soil conservation, and biodiversity. Our mission is to enhance both the environment and our community through agriculture that cares for the planet. Role Description This is an on-site role for a Farm based in Annapolis, MD. The Farmer will be responsible for planting, growing, harvesting, and maintaining crops and wild flowers according to sustainable and eco-friendly practices. Additional responsibilities include soil preparation, irrigation, pest management, and equipment maintenance to ensure optimal yield and the health of the environment. Collaboration with team members and adherence to best practices in sustainable agriculture and FSMA will also be integral to the role. Qualifications Knowledge of planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniquesExperience with soil management, irrigation systems, and pest controlAbility to operate and maintain farming and gardening equipmentUnderstanding of sustainable and eco-friendly agricultural practicesStrong physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsExcellent organizational and time-management skillsTeam collaboration skills and ability to communicate effectivelyRelevant farming or horticulture certifications are a plusA passion for sustainability and dedication to environmental welfare
