Data Engineer II
Data Engineer IIGenesis10 is currently seeking a Data Engineer II for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.The Data Engineer II will help design, build, and maintain a centralized performance and analytics repository that integrates data from multiple technology platforms and operational systems. This role is responsible for developing scalable data pipelines, transforming and validating complex datasets, and creating reusable data structures that support reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making. Working closely with architects, product owners, engineers, and analytics teams, this individual will help deliver high-quality data solutions that enable dashboards, reports, and :Design, develop, and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelinesIntegrate data from multiple platforms, databases, APIs, and operational systemsCreate and maintain data models, schemas, tables, views, and collectionsBuild and optimize solutions using PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar databasesDevelop processes that ensure data quality, accuracy, consistency, and reliabilityTransform raw and semi-structured data into curated, analytics-ready datasetsPartner with stakeholders to define data requirements and technical solutionsSupport dashboard, reporting, and visualization initiatives by providing optimized datasetsTroubleshoot data issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actionsParticipate in testing, code reviews, deployment activities, and production supportDocument data flows, transformations, and technical solutionsContribute to Agile planning, estimation, and delivery activitiesRequirements:3+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL, or data integration rolesStrong SQL skills and experience designing relational database solutionsExperience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or similar database technologiesExperience with MongoDB or other NoSQL database platformsProficiency in Python, Java, Spark, or similar data processing technologiesExperience building and maintaining automated data pipelinesKnowledge of data modeling, schema design, and data warehouse conceptsExperience implementing data quality controls and validation processesFamiliarity with REST APIs, file-based ingestion, and system integrationsExperience working with large-scale operational or analytical datasetsUnderstanding of performance tuning, indexing, and query optimizationExperience supporting dashboards and reporting platforms such as Grafana, Tableau, or Power BIFamiliarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD practicesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skillsExcellent communication and documentation skillsDesired Skills:Experience working on Big Data Technologies like HadoopCloudera Admin / Dev CertificationCertification in Cloud, Docker-Container, Openshift TechnologiesPay range: $53.24 - $61.24 per hourOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!
