Service Shop Porter
Position Purpose
The Service Department is a vital part of the dealership, and the way it builds open, honest, trusting relationships with customers and other departments are essential to the dealership’s success. The Service Shop Porter’s main objective is to support the activities within the Service Department.
Service Shop Porter Accountabilities
Capable of assisting technicians with repairs and installation of equipment and machinery
Deliver parts to repair bays
Clean repair bays between service events
Work ethic it takes to ensure each job is done efficiently and completely
Great time management and organizational skills
Physically capable of performing all porter duties
Ability to drive standard vehicles whether automatic or manual
Other duties and responsibilities as requested by Manager
Service Shop Porter Required Qualifications
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company's insurance carrier.
CDL is required. Class A preferred but a minimum of Class B
Able to work in a fast-paced environment while providing a superior customer service experience
Must be neat in appearance, punctual, and a team player.
Ability to lift 50lbs without assistance and move throughout warehouse to obtain parts.
Possess good communication skills.
Must be able to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities and be responsive and flexible to best serve the issue at hand.
Service Shop Porter Preferred Qualifications
Good organizational skills & strong attention to detail.
Familiarity with shop environment
Certified to drive vehicles such as forklifts and tractors
High School Diploma/GED
