Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials and promptly notify the supervisor.Inspect workpieces for defects to ensure conformance with specifications.Remove slag from steel using a chisel hammer and other appropriate tools.Mark and/or tag materials with correct job numbers, piece marks, and other identifying information.Signal crane operators to safely move large or heavy workpieces.Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment, such as lifting up to 50lbs.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.Ability to communicate clearly and work as part of a team.Prior experience in steel manufacturing or similar industry preferred but not required.Ability to working aRotating schedule, 4 days on, 2 days off, 12-hour shifts.Equal Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
