We are seeking to fill one vacancy for the Parks and Recreation Department. The Maintenance Worker position will report to the Parks and Facilities Supervisor who oversees all day-to-day maintenance activities in the parks. Work activities include maintaining playgrounds, shelters, restrooms, sanitation rounds, snow removal, cemetery burials, construction projects, ice arena, and aquatic center maintenance. The shift available is Sunday to Thursday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Maintenance Workers perform manual labor including heavy maintenance and construction work involving semi-skilled tasks; performs related work as required.The City of Ames is conducting a recruitment to establish a Civil Service eligibility list for this classification. The list will be valid for up to one year from the date of certification by the Ames Civil Service Commission and may be used to fill one or more vacancies in this classification.
