Inventory Specialist
One of the country's leading engine and power solutions manufacturers is searching for a Inventory Specialist to join their operations team onsite in Whitakers, NC. In this role, you'll be hands-on in optimizing manufacturing systems, auditing inventory, and driving continuous process improvements across the plant floor. In a nutshell, you'll be responsible for reviewing part numbers and conducting analysis related to inventory and operational issues; while you will need to be able to read CAD drawings and schematics, this role does not involve CAD creating designs.This exciting opportunity begins as a 6-month W2 contract offering competitive benefits and the potential for extension based on business needs and performance. The schedule is onsite Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with overtime required as needed, at their Whitakers, NC plant.ResponsibilitiesReview part numbers and conduct analysis related to inventory and operational issuesManage small-scale projects focused on identifying and resolving process or inventory discrepanciesSupport sequence cart design and coordinate with vendors from initial design through productionAudit rack parts and inventory while gathering and analyzing data to ensure accuracy and efficiencyAssist in optimizing plant storage space and support storage identification processesCollaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to maintain and update PFEP documentationDevelop and maintain process documentation for ongoing operational projectsApply Operations Excellence principles and continuous improvement methodologies to logistics and manufacturing workflowsPartner with business and functional leaders to proactively identify opportunities, develop improvement initiatives, and drive them through to completionSupport workstation design efforts using ergonomic, plant layout, and safety principlesAssist with cost analysis on make vs. buy decisions for components or sub-assembliesAssist in creating and maintaining standard work methods for new and existing production linesSkills & ExperienceEducation: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related STEM field requiredExperience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in an industrial or manufacturing engineering capacityProficiency in CAD software with the ability to review models and engineering concepts in collaboration with vendorsStrong Microsoft Excel skills for data organization, analysis, and reportingDemonstrated data analytical skills with the ability to interpret findings and support decision-makingFamiliarity with line balancing, work measurement, and process layout conceptsWorking knowledge of manufacturing analysis tools and digital simulation methodsAbility to interpret engineering drawings and apply them to manufacturing process designUnderstanding of ergonomic standards and safe workstation design principlesStrong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly across diverse audiencesProven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build productive working relationshipsCommitment to health, safety, and continuous improvement culture on the plant floorAbility to recognize and act on process improvement opportunities using lean or waste-reduction methodologiesYou will receive the following benefits:Medical Insurance - Four medical plans to choose from for you and your familyDental & Orthodontia BenefitsVision BenefitsHealth Savings Account (HSA)Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending AccountsVoluntary Life Insurance, Long-Term & Short-Term Disability InsuranceHospital Indemnity InsurancePaid Sick Time LeaveLegal and Identity Protection PlansPre-tax Commuter Benefit529 College Saver PlanMotion Recruitment Partners is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets.
