Neighbors is located off of Fort Apache & Russell--we are a casual New American restaurant primarily focusing on breakfast, brunch, and lunch items presented in both classic and modern looks. Our menu is constantly evolving but we pay homage to the quintessential American diner while drawing inspiration from the heritage of everyone that walks in through the doors.
The Neighbors Pastry Prep Cook will be at the front lines of an open kitchen, carrying out both classic and new developing recipes & menu items as set by the Chef. You will be responsible for presenting dishes with precision and quality that meet our Neighbors company standards. As a prep cook, you will be tasked with mastering the recipes & held accountable for cleanliness as well as maintaining food & equipment safety knowledge.

Responsibilities
Executing menu items from start to finish. This includes but is not limited to: preparation of ingredients, butchery of proteins, cooking, cooling, and storing of menu items
Working with seasonal produce and constantly changing menus
Honing your existing skills while learning new techniques and building your skill set
Working collaboratively with BOH staff and FOH staff
Maintaining cleanliness of any BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, prep areas
Participate in deep cleaning of BOH work areas, including and not limited to refrigeration, cooking equipment, prep areas, stand mixers, small equipment, and tables
Work as a team in order to receive product & conduct FIFO in regards to all mise and product
Set up, maintain, as well as restock ALL mise en place relating to the line
Answer, report, and follow instructions as given by management--not limited to but including the Executive Chef, Sous Chef(s), General Manager
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests at all times
Skills & Requirements
At least 1 year of related experience preferred
General knife handling, food safety & sanitation knowledge
High volume restaurant experience required
Comfortable working in a fast paced and high energy environment
A passion for food, exceptional work ethic and dedication
Able to take constructive criticism, learn quickly and constantly improve
Physical Demands
The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
