Senior Robotics Software Engineer

OverviewEmancro's mission is to build general-purpose hospital logistics robots that perform a wide variety of tasks such as organizing and distributing medication and medical supplies within hospitals, and many more tasks in the future. In this way, robots are freeing up medical staff's time and enable better and more resilient patient care.The following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.We are an ambitious and rapidly growing team pushing the boundaries of what is possible in robotics, leveraging our recent breakthroughs in computer vision, robotics and AI at UC Berkeley.The RoleThis role is full-time, on-site only. We're looking for candidates to start between now and mid-July.ResponsibilitiesDevelop controllers, motion planning algorithms, and teleoperation infrastructure for robot arms and mobile basesOptimize performance and run-time of robotics- and computer vision algorithmsSet up data processing pipelines and cloud database for storing robot logsKey QualificationsExtensive C++ (>5 years) and python (>5 years) software engineering experienceExtensive experience writing and debugging of ROS/ROS2, writing Rviz pluginsExperience with CUDA and TensorRTExperience deriving robot arm and mobile base kinematics and inverse kinematicsUnderstanding of motion planning algorithms for arm motion planning and robot navigationExpert-level understanding of 3D geometry, transformations, rotations, quaternions etc.Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, cloud databases, etc.)3+ years experience architecting and writing complex production quality softwareGitOptional QualificationsExperience developing and tuning machine learning and computer vision, xmcpwfu imitation- and reinforcement learning algorithmsMachine learning frameworks: Pytorch, JaxExperience with multithreading and thread safety (scheduling, race conditions, etc.)Compensations and Benefits$170-185k/yearHealth and dental insurance included401(k) retirement plan includedEmancro is committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status.
