RESTAURANT MANAGER - SCRATCH FOOD & BREWERYLocation: Northville, MICompensation: $55,000 - $60,000 annuallyEmployment Type: Full-Time POSITION SUMMARYThe Restaurant Manager is responsible for the overall front-of-house operations. Their main objective is to ensure exceptional guest experiences, lead and develop the service team, drive sales performance, and maintain the highest standards of hospitality while ensuring compliance with all safety and operational regulations. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIESOversee all front-of-house operations including dining room, bar, host stand, and guest servicesSupervise, coach, and develop front-of-house employees including servers, bartenders, hosts, and bussersEnsure consistent execution of service standards and guest satisfaction during all shiftsRecruit, hire, train, and onboard new front-of-house team membersCreate and manage staff schedules to ensure proper coverage while controlling labor costsMonitor and manage inventory levels for bar, beverages, and front-of-house suppliesWork with the kitchen manager and leadership team to coordinate service flow and menu executionHandle guest concerns and complaints with professionalism, empathy, and immediate resolutionEnsure compliance with all health, safety, alcohol service, and sanitation regulationsMaintain cleanliness and organization of all front-of-house areasProcess daily sales reports, cash handling, and end-of-shift reconciliationCoordinate private dining events, large parties, and special occasionsDrive sales through strategic upselling, promotional execution, and guest engagementConduct pre-shift meetings to align team on daily specials, reservations, and service prioritiesMonitor labor costs and implement strategies to optimize productivityMaintain weekly and monthly sales and labor cost reportsPerform opening and closing duties as assignedPerform all duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESEducation/Certifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferredAn associate degree in hospitality related field or equivalent is preferredA valid driver's license is requiredNRA ServSafe Food and Alcohol certifications preferredTIPS or comparable alcohol service certification preferredExperience:2+ years previous restaurant management experience in casual dining or polished casual environment preferredExperience in high-volume restaurant operations preferredCraft beer or brewery restaurant experience a plusSkills/Competencies:Superior people management skills, communication and listening skills requiredMust be self-motivated and detail orientedHave a passion for the brand and for teaching othersAbility to quickly grasp and retain new ideas and concepts and incorporate them into daily work activities is requiredAbility to effectively communicate with others (e.g., with Team Members, Guests, Vendors, etc.) requiredDemonstrated time management and organizational skills requiredSuperior listening skills and guest service orientation requiredMust be flexible and adaptable to changeRequired to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidaysWorking knowledge of labor laws, health codes, safe food handling and sanitation, alcohol safety, safety and security systems and procedures, and computer operations preferredStrong knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits with ability to make recommendations to guestsProficiency with POS systems and restaurant management softwareAbility to build relationships with guests and create a welcoming atmosphereStrong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressureFlexibility to work a minimum of 50 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours or adjustments based on company and business needsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSWhen performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move throughout the workplace; sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance, stoop, kneel and verbally communicate.
