Plant Electrical Engineer – Onsite near Indianapolis, IN (35868)

An automotive parts manufacturer based out of the Pendleton, IN area is searching for a Plant Electrical Engineer to support their operations. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supporting new industrial automation projects, including system and equipment upgrades. The ideal candidate will have experience with SQL scripting, implementing and modifying logic controllers, and working with a variety of manufacturing automation equipment. Prior experience with the automotive manufacturing industry is preferred. This is a full-time and direct-hire / permanent role with excellent benefits, including health/dental/vision/life insurances, company bonus, and 401k matching. Relocation assistance is available and will be provided if required.Plant Electrical Engineer Responsibilities:Develop and implement machine control systems, SCADA packages, and other electrical equipment upgradesPlan, coordinate, direct, and implement new controls and system automation upgrades as needed, including providing training to technicians on electrical safety and proper equipment operating proceduresDesign controls and programs for a variety of manufacturing equipmentSupport new IT and database networking integration for real-time automationContribute to plant maintenance activities by providing assistance in troubleshooting and diagnosis for any programming or electrical issues on facility equipment to help maintain a safe, functional working environmentSupport process improvement, including providing recommendations and specifications for equipment replacement, and design for new lines or processes in compliance with relevant electrical standardsAssist in the installation of new electrical systems and components as needed.Ensure all electrical equipment is calibrated and functioning optimally.Other duties as assignedPlant Electrical Engineer Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical field, or equivalent level of experienceAbility to read mechanical blueprints and electrical schematicsPrevious experience in a lean manufacturing environment, preferably within the automotive industryStrong working knowledge of industrial networking, SCADA (i.e. Ignition, Wonderware), PLC programming and troubleshooting, and relevant IT softwareKnowledge of "poka-yoke" or error-proofingAbility to work in a team environment and collaborate on projectsActiv8 Recruitment & Solutions / Renaissance Resources Inc., has been one of the leading recruiting firms in North America when it comes to working with Japanese Businesses for more than 25 years.
