Applications Engineer - CNC - Springfield, MA

About Our ClientMy client is a provider of Swisstype CNC turning centers and automatic lathes, formed back in the 1980s. The organization supplies precision machining solutions used across industries including medical devices, electronics, automotive, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing. Job DescriptionThe Applications Engineer will: Develop part programs for CNC machines, support process development, and deliver customer training in a manufacturing environment. Conduct presale activities, including customer visits, machine evaluations, recommendations, and partprocessing guidance. Prepare accurate cost estimates, write engineering reports, and interpret plans and specifications. Review and interpret part drawings, plans, and technical specifications. Create time studies and perform firstpiece runoffs. Program, set up, and train customers on CNC lathes, as well as CNC vertical and horizontal mills, ensuring programs meet customer requirements. Provide remote and onsite customer support, including travel to customer sites. Set up, align, and integrate bar feed units. Travel within the tristate area up to 50%, with additional domestic and international travel as required. The Successful ApplicantA successful Applications Engineer should have the following qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience working with CNC machines Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong verbal and written communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred. Ability to travel locally up to 50%, with additional domestic and international travel. Valid driver's license and passport required.
