Network EngineerLocation: Acton, MA / Hybrid 1-2 days remoteDuration: 6 Month Contract to hirePosition Description:Responsible for supporting, implementing, and maintaining network systems, including Cisco switching, routing, and Wi-Fi in a rapidly changing global manufacturing environment. Test and evaluate network systems for optimum performance in support of ongoing and future manufacturing needs. Support expansion and new facility builds as necessary worldwide. Work with vendors to receive the best services available. Provide backup for the Collaboration Engineer as essential to ensure manufacturing voice and video services function optimally. Provide global WAN support to allow continuous availability of the global network. Provide and configure network based security solutions to ensure uninterrupted production and customer safety. Work closely with corporate network and systems teams to ensure reliability and availability of all necessary manufacturing systems.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze manufacturing business requirements to develop technical networking solutions and their framework.Deploy network infrastructures in new and existing manufacturing facilities worldwide.Active champion of ISA-95 and associated IT/OT architecture.Proactive management, monitoring, troubleshooting, and technical analysis of the global manufacturing data infrastructure.Help with the development and implementation of global manufacturing network technology roadmaps.Perform troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose network problems.Design and test network capacity and performance to meet manufacturing requirements.Evaluate and recommend changes to meet current and future business, and regulatory compliance needs across the companies ever-expanding global manufacturing footprint.Be a project manager on IT projects as needed, work closely with IT leadership and global manufacturing to meet goals and objectives.Consult with manufacturing to provide workable, creative solutions to problems presented.Create, update and maintain documentationManage worldwide data vendors to obtain the best network services.Education And ExperienceBachelor's Degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.4+ years related work experience.Cisco CCNA Routing and Switching and/or CCNA Wireless certification preferred.Skills/CompetenciesMust be able to set up computer hardware and workstations.Cisco Wi-Fi, including Wireless LAN Controllers and Cisco ISE.Hands-on experience with Cisco switches and routers.Working knowledge of manufacturing network design, segmentation, and security.Working knowledge of QoS and its use in manufacturing applications.Multisite network design, configuration, and management.Palo Alto Networks firewall configuration and management.Network monitoring and alerting.Communications skills and the ability to understand project requirements and convey them to others.
