Cutting Die Maker

Job Description The Diemaker is a craft position. Using wood, steel rule knife, and rubber the Diemaker creates a cutting die by hand with assistance of industry specific automated equipment designed for cutting die production. The Diemaker isexpected to drive Container Graphics CS1 mindset and always represent the company in a positive, energetic, and consistent manner. They will report directly to the Production Manager.Essential Functions:• Perform one or more of the following job assignments for the construction of flat and rotary cutting dies:o Layout – Read, conform, comply with corporate Standard Operating Procedure SOP R-1o Sawing – Read, conform, comply with corporate Standard Operating Procedure SOP R-2o Ruling – Read, conform, comply with corporate Standard Operating Procedure SOP R-3o Rubbering – Read, conform, comply with Standard Operating Procedure SOP R-4Follow all CGC corporate safety program requirementsUnderstand and participate in quality checks as requiredMaintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping in work areaRead CAD files to accurately assemble custom toolsUse manual and automated equipment to form materials needed to build cutting diesAssemble cutting dies by handPerform all other related duties as assignedEducation / Experience Requirements:Position Level:• Entry Level or ExperiencedMinimum Education & Experience:• High School Diploma or EquivalentPreferred Education & Experience:High School Diploma or EquivalentMetal Working BackgroundKnowledge / Skills Requirements:Basic knowledge of math fundamentals, including but not limited to fractions, decimals, and basic geometryAbility to accurately read a tape measure and caliperGood hand/eye coordinationBasic knowledge of computer platformsGood verbal communication skillsKnowledge of how to operate hand and power toolsPhysical Requirements:• Strength and mobility to perform the duties described above, i.e., standing, moving, lifting, bending, reaching,pushing, pulling• Perform repetitive motions and have strong finger dexterity• Lift up to 65 pounds safely
