POSITION SUMMARY:
The Material Manager leads the materials team in warehouse organization, material flow and strategic product placement. This cross-functional role will oversee inbound and outbound shipments, support on-going design improvements, ensure timely delivery of inventory to manufacturing, and optimize warehouse space. Supervise the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or materials.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead by example, coach and develop team members creating a positive environment and continuous improvement culture.
Supervise the efficiency of the storage and movement of goods.
Responsible for creation of shipping documentation and contact with customs officials to effect release of shipments.
Arrange for off-site storage facilities when required.
Collaborate with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities, such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.
Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, shipping, or salvaging products or materials.
Monitor all licenses required to operate (County, State, and Federal) and keep current on all new rules and regulations tied into EPA, OSHA, DOT, & NTSB.
Schedule and monitor air or surface pickup, delivery, or distribution of products or materials.
Track and trace goods while they are in route to their destinations, expediting orders when necessary.
Audit and sign off on all bills associated with the Warehouse.
Create and maintain performance metrics, reports, process documentation and safety records.
Manage the ABC analysis process.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business or Accounting/Finance or related field or equivalent experience.
Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) accreditation or other relevant certification is advantageous.
Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in a warehousing and inventory control
Five (5) years direct supervision experience.
Experience working in Excel and Epicor, or comparable ERP/MRP system
Experience with contract manufacturing, metals, plastics, or medical device
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to inform at all levels of the organization as well as with external vendors.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
