Workforce Development Coordinator

Job Summary The Workforce Development Coordinator plays a crucial role in enhancing the skills and employability of at-risk males (ages 14-21) who reside at Taylor Diversion Programs in Sheffield , PA. This position involves developing and implementing training programs, mentoring participants, and collaborating with various community/area businesses to create a supportive environment for workforce integration. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social work, knowledge and experience in workforce development, mentoring and/or counseling experiences and a desire to work with at-risk youth who need guidance in their next steps to success. Duties Design and implement comprehensive workforce development programs tailored to at-risk males (ages 14-21). Conduct assessments to identify the skills and needs of participants, ensuring personalized development plans. Facilitate training sessions that cover essential job skills, interviewing techniques, and workplace etiquette. Collaborate with employers to create job opportunities for program participants, fostering partnerships that support workforce integration. Provide mentorship and support to individuals throughout their job search process, including resume writing and interview preparation. Stay informed about employment and labor laws in PA to ensure compliance within all programs. Engage in community outreach to promote awareness of workforce development initiatives. Monitor participant progress and adjust programs as necessary to meet evolving needs. Skills Strong understanding of employment & labor law as it relates to workforce development. Experience working with young adults/at-risk youth. Expertise in workforce development strategies that enhance employability. Knowledge of social work principles relevant to community engagement. Skilled in interviewing techniques that facilitate effective communication. Ability to mentor at-risk youth towards achieving their career goals.
