Join us in our mission to provide comprehensive support to those navigating the challenges of cancer treatment.Position OverviewThe Infusion Nurse coordinates and provides infusion services to ensure consistent care across the continuum for patients entering the clinic. This role is responsible for assessing patient needs and delivering comprehensive nursing care in the infusion suite, while promoting collaboration among patients, caregivers, and the healthcare team to enhance the overall patient experience.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and improve the care experience for patients and familiesPromote a seamless flow through the outpatient health system to facilitate patient careProvide and oversee direct patient care in accordance with nursing practice, protocols, and provider ordersDeliver safe, effective, and comprehensive infusion services, including chemotherapyUtilize knowledge of medications, treatment plans, infection control, and safety precautions to initiate appropriate interventionsDemonstrate competency in accessing and maintaining venous access devicesCoordinate patient education, resources, and support for treatment plansMaintain systems to document, track, and monitor patient data and careAdminister chemotherapy in accordance with research trials when applicable after required onboarding periodPerform telephone follow-up within the scope of the RN rolePerform other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation & ExperienceRequiredGraduate from an accredited nursing programMinimum of one (1) year of nursing experience in a medical, surgical, and/or clinical settingCurrent license to practice as a professional nurse in the state where work is performed or compact licenseBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart AssociationPreferredBachelor’s degree in NursingOutpatient nursing and infusion experienceSkills & AbilitiesKnowledge of healthcare resources to support patient navigationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong problem-solving and conflict resolution skillsStrong computer skillsAbility to provide excellent customer service and patient-centered careDemonstrates compassion and sensitivityWhy West Cancer Center is a Great Place to WorkMeaningful Impact: Play a direct role in supporting patients through one of the most challenging times of their lives.Collaborative Culture: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of dedicated professionals committed to improving cancer care.Professional Development: Benefit from ongoing training, educational resources, and growth opportunities.Mission-Driven Environment: Be part of an organization guided by compassion, integrity, and innovation.No nights, weekends, or holidays.
