This position works with the Merchandising team, as well as other departments as needed, to develop comprehensive assortment strategies or process improvements to meet consumer needs. Product Manager Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining appropriate inventory levels, performing pricing analyses, assisting with product development, and helping with promotional efforts or key initiatives.About The Role Of a Product Manager InternDevelop and manage a strategic business plan for the life cycle of a product lineSuggest for approval buy and sell prices for new and existing product linesUpdate buy and sell prices on website. Verify posted buy prices are in alignment with current market prices and inventory position; ensure buy price provides necessary margins for profit goals and address any margin or other pricing issues that are foundSearch for and research new items to sell.Develop and communicate clear concepts and plans to expand a product lineProvide recommendations to Site Merchandising for email promotions and banners advertisements to use on the company website or app. Review inventory out-of-stock reports, inventory depletions, and inventory low stock notices to ensure acceptable inventory levels are maintained; utilize sales and clearance categories to drawn down excess inventory where appropriateReview all daily and weekly reports to accurately manage product linesQualificationsThe following make a candidate a good fit for this internship: Junior/Senior level or recent college graduates requiredWorking towards or will soon obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.Prior experience in dealing with financial reporting is preferred, i.e. margin, sales, inventoryKnowledge of pricing strategies and profit margins requiredExperience in retail, e-commerce, financial, or the precious metals industry is preferredExperience working cross functionally Advanced to intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel requiredIntermediate skills with other Microsoft Office products.APMEX is a multi billion-dollar ecommerce company that is the leader in Precious Metals.
