Position SummaryThe Sales Executive for Latin America is responsible for developing and managing sales of food ingredients and agricultural commodities across specific Latin American countries. The role focuses on expanding the company’s customer base, managing key accounts, negotiating international contracts, and identifying new distribution channels for products such as edible nuts, dried fruits, pulses, spices, grains, and other food ingredients.The position requires strong knowledge of international commodity trading, regional import structures, logistics, and pricing dynamics within Latin America.Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business DevelopmentDevelop and execute sales strategies to grow market share within specific Latin America countries assigned by the company.Identify and develop new customers including importers, distributors, processors, food manufacturers and retailers.Manage customer relationships and key accounts in the region.Achieve annual sales targets in volume, revenue, and margin.Commodity Trading & Market DevelopmentMarket and sell products such as edible nuts, dried fruits, grains, pulses, seeds, spices, sugar, and related food ingredients.Negotiate international sales contracts including pricing, payment terms, and delivery conditions.Monitor global commodity markets and identify trading opportunities.Provide market intelligence on crop updates, supply, demand, and price trends covering assigned countries.Customer & Market ManagementConduct regular travel to meet clients and attend trade shows.Build long-term relationships with importers, distributors, and industrial buyers.Develop regional distributor networks where appropriate.Support customers with product specifications, logistics coordination, and documentation.Commercial & Operational CoordinationCoordinate with logistics, procurement, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution of shipments.Facilitate export documentation including contracts, invoices, shipping instructions, and letters of credit as required.Assist with forecasting demand and planning inventory allocation.Risk ManagementMonitor credit exposure and payment performance of customers.Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.Evaluate political, currency, and market risks affecting trade in the region.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, Agriculture, Food Science, or related field.3–8+ years of sales experience in food ingredients, agricultural commodities, or food trading.Proven track record selling into Latin American markets.Strong understanding of international trade terms (Incoterms), logistics, and commodity pricing structures.Skills & CompetenciesFluent in Spanish and English (Portuguese is a strong advantage).Strong negotiation and relationship-management skills.Knowledge of commodity markets and price risk dynamics.Ability to work in a fast-paced international trading environment.Strong analytical and communication skills.Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently in regional markets.Travel RequirementsFrequent international travel within Latin America (25%).Attendance at industry trade shows and customer visits.Performance MetricsAnnual sales revenue and gross marginVolume growth by product categoryNew customer acquisitionCustomer retention and account developmentRegional market expansionTypical CustomersFood manufacturersImporters and distributorsIngredient processorsRetail/private label packersFoodservice distributors
