Position SummaryThe Sr. Director, Data Warehouse & AI is responsible for defining and leading the strategy, architecture, and execution of enterprise data warehouse, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities. This role owns the design, delivery, and operational maturity of scalable data platforms that support mission-critical decision making across field operations, asset management, customer experience, and corporate functions. Operating at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and emerging AI technologies, this leader partners closely with executive stakeholders to translate business strategy into high-impact data and AI solutions. Success is achieved through strategic direction, technical credibility, and cross-functional influence rather than day-to-day development execution.ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute the enterprise data warehouse, analytics, and AI strategy aligned with business objectives and measurable outcomesEstablish and govern modern data platform architectures including cloud data warehouses, lakehouse patterns, and AI-ready data foundationsLead, develop, and mentor teams across data engineering, business intelligence, and advanced analyticsPartner with executive leadership to prioritize data and AI initiatives based on business value, operational impact, and ROIOversee design, implementation, and reliability of scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) supporting batch and near real-time use casesOwn cloud-based data platforms and tooling (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS) ensuring availability, performance, and scalabilityIntegrate and curate data from enterprise and operational systems including GIS, ticketing, asset/work management, and customer information systemsEstablish standardized enterprise KPIs and reporting frameworks supporting field operations, productivity, and SLA performanceDeliver trusted analytics and dashboards through enterprise BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)Enable advanced analytics and AI use cases such as predictive maintenance, demand forecasting, workforce optimization, and automationEstablish data governance, quality, lineage, and stewardship frameworks across domainsEnsure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements applicable to data platforms and AI usagePartner cross-functionally with field operations, sales, GIS, customer experience, and product teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutionsDrive adoption of self-service analytics and improve data accessibility across the organizationEvaluate and implement emerging technologies in AI/ML, automation, and modern analytics to continuously mature capabilitiesRequirementsBachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or enterprise data platform roles5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing technical teamsProven experience designing and operating large-scale, cloud-based data warehouse or lakehouse platformsStrong technical depth in data pipelines, modern data architectures, SQL, and PythonExperience with enterprise BI and analytics platformsDemonstrated ability to align data and AI initiatives to business strategy and operational outcomesStrong communication and executive presence with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to lead through influence, standards, and roadmap executionExperience applying AI/ML to operational or infrastructure-focused use cases Knowledge of regulatory, compliance, and data governance frameworks is preferred Familiarity with utility-specific systems such as SCADA, GIS, or OMS preferred
