Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Manufacturing Systems)

A day in this roleYou start your shift by reviewing the preventive maintenance schedule, then move to the production floor to scan HMI readouts and PLC diagnostics. A belt shows wear on a conveyor — you pull the guard, replace the sheaves and bearings, and realign the shaft. A forklift throws a code; you diagnose the electrical system, swap a sensor, and verify safe operation. After lunch, you help production clean and reassemble an extrusion line, weld a small bracket to reinforce a frame, and coach an operator on safe start-up. You close the day by documenting completed work, sourcing a replacement VFD online, and confirming that eye and ear protection were used throughout.What you’ll tackleTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical equipment and facility systems across a fast-paced production environment.Install, commission, and maintain equipment to manufacturer and management specifications.Apply strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and related electrical components for diagnostics and repair.Work confidently with electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic tools and conveyor systems.Repair/replace motor transmission components: pulleys, sheaves, belts, bearings, and shafts.Perform corrective welding and light fabrication for parts, frames, and structures; basic pipe fitting and fabrication.Interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to recognize applicable information.Partner with production to clean, assemble, and operate production equipment; train associates on equipment operation.Execute safe, efficient troubleshooting techniques; sustain the preventative maintenance program.Maintain equipment, facilities, tools, and work areas; repair and maintain powered industrial trucks and forklifts.Complete all required documentation for tasks performed; other duties may be assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED and at least three (3) years’ experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience required; Maintenance: 2 years (Required).Clear, professional communication skills for training, presenting, and collaborating with team members and vendors.Strong troubleshooting and reasoning ability; basic math to measure, calculate, and solve problems.Comfort entering data into computer programs; internet savvy for sourcing parts and information.Basic Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel skills.Proficient operating forklifts, aerial lifts, and floor cleaning machines; able to obtain/maintain certifications.Hands-on with mechanical and hand tools, welding equipment, drill press, saws, and an amp meter.Must own basic tools.Environment & physical demandsStand or sit for varied periods; push, pull, bend, lift, carry, and move up to 65 lbs.Production setting with mechanical/electrical equipment, moving objects, dirt/dust, and noise.Eye and ear protection required for the entire shift; varied temperature conditions.Work on platforms, climb stairs/ladders, and access under equipment; fast-paced, deadline-oriented work with overtime as needed.Strong ability to multitask.Compensation, schedule, and settingJob Type: Full-timeSalary: From $25.00 per hourSchedule: 12 hour shift; Evening/Day shift; Alternating On call; OvertimeWork setting: In-person; Work Location: In personExperience level: 2 yearsBenefits401(k) with 401(k) matchingHealth, Dental, Vision, and Life insurancePaid time offTechnologies and proficienciesYou’ll use: Injection Molding Machine, Extrusion Machine, HMI, Conveyor Systems, Pelletizer Machine.You Should Be Proficient InDriver's LicensePLC Troubleshooting SkillsCreating Preventive Maintenance PlansEquipment TroubleshootingElectrical SchematicsFacilities Maintenance ExperienceMechanical Troubleshooting SkillsSingle and Three Phase PowerElectrical Systems Diagnostics & RepairCAD SoftwarePreventive Maintenance & InspectionElectrical TroubleshootingExperience in a Manufacturing EnvironmentBlueprint ReadingPeople with a criminal record are encouraged to apply.CT Polymers LLC. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
