CCYA is BBB accredited & recipient of City of Columbus Summer Youth Grant Program! Are you passionate about supporting youth in your community? Our local charity, CCYA Young Aviators, is seeking a dedicated volunteer board secretary to help us continue inspiring and empowering local youth, especially those at risk of being underserved. Since launching our nonprofit four years ago, we've provided life-changing aviation experiences to hundreds of young people, and we're eager to welcome a reliable new team member who shares our commitment.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and can commit 2–3 hours per week, mostly working from home. Prior experience as a board secretary or familiarity with Robert’s Rules is required—enthusiasm and willingness to learn helpful as you’ll receive plenty of support from our President, Treasurer, and Executive Director.As our volunteer secretary, you will:- Facilitate communication among board members- Prepare for and manage board meetings- Take minutes and maintain accurate records- Oversee board member applications- Track and record board-approved documents- Manage legal filings and documents- Renew BBB accreditation- Assist in creating and submitting annual reports- And much more!Our board consists entirely of volunteers, with the exception of our Executive Director, who handles day-to-day program management and fundraising. Thanks to this support, board members can balance their involvement with work and family while focusing on their specific roles. Currently, we have 11 board members, each bringing unique expertise and energy.Over the years, CCYA Young Aviators has built strong partnerships with organizations such as The United Way, Columbus City Schools, Columbus State Aviation Maintenance School, Capital City Aviation, Lane Aviation, JPs BBQ, Worthington Jewelers, Encova Foundation, Battelle, Boys & Girls Club of Central Ohio, Delta Dental, Retirement Strategies, and many more.
