Fabrication Operator-2nd Shift
Southern Specialties is looking for a Fabrication Operator to work at our climate-controlled facility, where components for sheet metal products are produced. Fabrication Operators will primarily be utilizing saws, drills, mills, taps, and other sanding, cutting, deburring, and grinding equipment to finish parts coming off the laser operator's table and moving the completed part to the next operation. We are looking for someone that is detail oriented and knows how to utilize hand/power tools. The ideal candidate will also have experience with Press Brakes and other metal forming machines and equipment.The hours are Monday - Thursday 3:30pm - 2am. 2nd Shift employees receive an 11.5% shift premium for hours worked.Responsibilities:Set up and operate machineryRead and interpret blueprints and drawingsInspect finished products for qualityMaintain a clean and safe work environmentJob Requirements:Previous experience working in a fabrication environment preferredProficient with measuring equipment including Height Gauge, Calipers, Tape Measure, Squares, Angle FindersProficiency with Blueprints and Work InstructionsExperience with industrial machinery and equipmentKnowledge of basic shop mathPrior experience in metal fabricationStrong attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamSafety-Sensitive Designation:Jobs which involve one or more tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others are considered safety-sensitive. Lifting devices should be used when possible. Parts must be lifted, pulled, pushed, and held in place, sometimes without benefit of material handling devices due to limited space and confined areas in and around machines.
