Program Manager - Infection Prevention
Job Summary:The Program Manager of Infection Prevention directs and coordinates the infection control program in the hospital.The Manager oversees and is responsible for surveillance, rounding, analyzing, interpreting and the reporting of healthcare associated infections.Supports the development of evidence-based organizational infection prevention policies/standards that meet state, federal, regulatory and accrediting agencies standards.The Manager trains healthcare members in infection prevention, is a leader in infection prevention and serves as a resource, educator, researcher and proponent of change in order to influence infection prevention improvement to provide quality health care within the organization.The Manager will be given the authority to implement and enforce the Surveillance, Prevention and Control Program policies, coordinate all infection prevention and control within the hospital and facilitate ongoing monitoring of the effectiveness of prevention and/or control activities and interventions.Required Skills, Experience, Certifications:Must-Haves:Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Microbiology, Public Health, or related field.Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required. If not possessed at time of hire, must obtain within 2 years.Ability to analyze data and generate reports.Nice-To-Haves:Minimum of 2 years' experience in infection prevention and control in a healthcare setting.Strong knowledge of infection control principles and practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
