Job DescriptionMachine Operator - 1st ShiftLocation: Lebanon, OHStarting Pay: $17.75/hr1st Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:55 AM - 3 PMJob DescriptionA Machine Operator at JBM Packaging is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment used to produce items such as envelopes and seed packets. This role plays a key part in ensuring products are accurately produced, filled, sealed, and prepared to meet quality and production standards.Success in this position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Core Responsibilities:Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot packaging equipment (including W&D web machines) to meet production, quality, and safety standardsProduction Monitoring: Ensure finished products meet specifications outlined in manufacturing ordersQuality Control: Inspect machinery and finished products to maintain consistent quality and identify defectsMachine Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and minor adjustments to ensure optimal performanceDocumentation: Accurately complete production paperwork and input data into systems (e.g., tablets)Workflow Coordination: Organize materials, labels, and packaging while maintaining a clean and efficient work areaKey Requirements:Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to identify and resolve basic machine issues (e.g., material misalignment, feeding issues)Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8-hour shifts), lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs regularlyEducation & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; prior manufacturing or machine operation experience preferredSoft Skills: Strong work ethic, reliable attendance, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environmentWork Environment & Training:Training: On-the-job training provided, including structured programs (such as a three-week training course) to support operator developmentEnvironment: Fast-paced manufacturing setting focused on safety, efficiency, and teamwork
