EDM Programmer / Setup Technician

Summary SEI Technologies is seeking an EDM Programmer / Setup Technician to support high-mix, low-volume production in a precision manufacturing environment. This role is primarily responsible for setup and operation of wire EDM equipment, with secondary responsibility for program editing and light programming using Esprit. This position is well-suited for someone who is comfortable working independently, solving problems on the floor, and owning the setup and execution of precision parts with minimal oversight. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate GF Cut wire EDM machines for a variety of precision components Edit and optimize existing Esprit programs; create simple programs as needed Read and interpret complex prints, including GD&T, to meet tight tolerances Select appropriate tooling, wire, and work holding methods for each job Verify setups and first articles to ensure conformance to specifications Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to maintain accuracy and efficiency Inspect parts using standard metrology equipment (micrometers, calipers, etc.) Troubleshoot issues related to setup, programming, or machine performance Maintain clean, organized work area and follow all safety and quality procedures Collaborate with engineering and operations to improve processes and throughput Qualifications 3+ years of experience in wire EDM setup and operation (5+ preferred for senior candidates) · preference for experience with EDM Drilling, EDM Sinkers, and Grinding Working knowledge of Esprit (or similar CAM system) for program editing or basic programming Strong understanding of machining principles and EDM processes Ability to read and work from complex drawings with tight tolerances Familiarity with GD&T and precision inspection techniques Experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments Self-directed with strong problem-solving ability Benefits: Dental insurance Employee assistance program Flexible schedule Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Application Question(s): What EDM machines and programs are proficient with?
