Position OverviewOur client is a high-growth, private equity-backed SaaS provider undergoing a comprehensive operational technology transformation. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Interim Controller to manage day-to-day accounting operations, maintain rigorous financial controls, and support our systems modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in SaaS accounting, experience under private equity ownership, and a proven track record of maintaining financial stability during major system migration.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & OperationsOversee all daily accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and cash management.Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers).Maintain and optimize a robust internal control environment to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.Manage working capital and monitor cash flow forecasting to meet private equity compliance requirements.Coordinate external audit preparation and act as the primary point of contact for external auditors.Technology Transformation SupportServe as the core accounting stakeholder and subject matter expert for the ongoing operational technology transformation.Validate data mapping, historical data migration, and system integrations to ensure the continuous accuracy of financial data.Establish new automated workflows, standard operating procedures, and controls tailored to the updated technology infrastructure.Partner with IT, revenue operations, and external transformation consultants to resolve system implementation issues affecting financial reporting.PE Reporting & Strategic PartnershipDeliver timely monthly financial reporting packages and KPI analyses (e.g., ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV) for executive leadership and private equity sponsors.Assist the CFO with ad-hoc financial analysis, board presentation preparation, and variance analysis against budget and forecast models.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.8+ years of progressive accounting management experience, with at least 3 years as a Controller or Assistant Controller.Direct experience working within a private equity-backed SaaS, tech-enabled services, or software sector.Deep technical expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition for recurring revenue streams, multi-element arrangements, and contract modifications.Proven experience participating in financial system implementations, ERP migrations (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct), or billing system transformations.Exceptional Excel skills and familiarity with business intelligence or data reconciliation tools.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, transitional environment with minimal supervision.
