Job Title: DesignerJob DescriptionThe chosen candidate will be responsible for electrical design for high-end motor coaches. This individual will utilize AutoCAD Electrical for designing and drafting electrical routings and layouts. The role involves working with prototypes to troubleshoot electrical systems for vehicle layout.ResponsibilitiesDesign and draft electrical systems and wire harnesses for high-end motor coaches using AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks.Develop detailed electrical routings and layouts that meet performance, safety, and quality requirements.Create and maintain accurate electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation for production and engineering teams.Collaborate with other engineers and designers to integrate electrical designs with overall vehicle layouts and mechanical systems.Support prototype builds by reviewing designs, answering technical questions, and updating drawings as needed.Troubleshoot electrical systems on prototype vehicles, identifying issues related to routing, harness design, and component integration.Incorporate feedback from manufacturing, engineering, and testing into revised electrical designs and documentation.Participate in design and project meetings to review concepts, resolve design challenges, and ensure alignment with project goals.Work with the manufacturing floor as needed to clarify electrical designs and support smooth transition from design to production.Essential SkillsExperience in wire harness and electrical systems design and drafting.Proficiency in using AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks.Background in CAD design work.Experience or education in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) with solid internship or Co-op experience in electrical design.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with wire harness, routers, and electrical system design.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is primarily an office cubicle setting where the candidate will spend the majority of their time performing CAD work behind the computer. There will also be time spent in collaborative meetings with other engineers and occasional visits to the manufacturing floor.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Decatur, IN.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.RequirementsEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
