This includes patient evaluation, development and implementation of an appropriate treatment plan, delivery of treatment services, and comprehensive discharge planning. The therapist functions as an effective team member and contributes to the development and achievement of department and organizational goals and objectives.Job DescriptionEssential Functions:Evaluates and implements competent therapy treatment and provides regular re-assessments for the purpose of treatment modification, to maximize patients’ potential for functional independence, all in accordance with acceptable practice guidelines and department policies and proceduresCommunicates patient status (e.g., evaluation results, treatment plan, and goals) by providing timely written or verbal communication to physicians and therapy customers (e.g., patients)Consistently establishes and maintains effective working relations with, patients and family members, internal customers, and external customersDemonstrates an understanding of the financial implications of treatment costs and resources on the department/facility by consistently working to provide cost effective treatment programming to served populationsEnsures that patient charges and corresponding clinical documentation are in compliance with regulatory standards and department policies and proceduresOversees rehab technicians, therapy assistants, and students consistent with discipline practice acts and according to organization and department policies and procedures.Self-monitor workflow to ensure productivity, standards of practice, and regulatory requirements are consistently met and reviews work of staff/personnel accordingly.Actively participates in program development, performance improvement activities, and community events sponsored by the organizationResponds to feedback/concerns in a professional manner that demonstrates effective listening skills, problem solving skills, and participatory management when situationsShift RequirementsShift Length (in hours): 7-10 hour shifts, varies based on work setting# Shifts/Week: 4-5/week, , varies based on work settingOvertime Required: ☒ Infrequently ☐ Sometimes ☐ OftenOther FunctionsAssists with interviewing, selecting, and orienting new personnelCompletes required documentation and maintains pertinent record of assigned patients to ensure compliance with regulatory requirementsServes as a role model for the department by demonstrating commitment to professional growth, department growth and competencyDemonstrates the ability to be efficient and productive by organizing job duties and responsibilitiesActively participates in departmental/programmatic meetings, constructively expressing concerns and ideasEscalate equipment, supply needs and gaps through appropriate pathways.Assumes additional leadership responsibilities as needed to support department goals.Maintains equipment and environment in a safe and orderly mannerContributes to the organization and operation of the department/programs within the organization’s strategic plan and mission statementPerforms other duties as assigned
