Powered, in part, by donations and retail customers, we change lives through the power of work.Position SummaryResponsible for sorting through soft line donations, separating sellable items from outlet products, and ensuring these items are appropriately hung on hangers and by department and category. Price basic clothing items using default pricing standards and name-brand clothing items according to GWH Guidelines. Process soft line donations from the backroom, ensuring merchandise is ready to be moved to the sales floor. Perform assigned duties while operating within GWH's Mission and all policies and procedures to maximize profitability and support our Mission.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSort soft goods (clothing, linens, etc.) according to GWH guidelines to maximize production.Price merchandise using the current GWH baseline pricing guidelines.Stay current with industry trends, merchandising, and competitive pricing.Carefully inspect all items to ensure they meet GWH quality standards.Hang all approved sorted goods on appropriate hangers and maintain size order by department.Work quickly to meet GWH production standards.Greet customers and assist with basic shop questions as needed.Assist with keeping production supplies available.Assist with loading and unloading merchandise as needed.Receive and record donations as needed.Assist with sorting donations according to GWH guidelines as assigned.Maintain the security and safety of GWH associates and property.Assist in floor recovery as needed.Perform necessary janitorial work.Perform other duties as assigned by Management.Additional ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate professionalism and maintain a friendly, cooperative attitude.Multi-task, make quick decisions, adapt to change, and work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.Adhere to all GWH Policies & Procedures, Loss Prevention & Safety Regulations, and GWH Guiding Principles.Be punctual, maintain dependable attendance, and present an appropriate appearance.Safely conduct work, maintain good housekeeping standards, keep aisles and fire exit pathways clear, and keep work areas neat and clean.Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and regulations.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.Retail sales experience preferred.Ability to communicate and interact well with a variety of personality types.Ability to work a flexible schedule.Reliable transportation.Key Performance IndicatorsEquipment ManagementProduction ManagementWork Integrity: Follows established procedures and processes donations timely with a sense of urgency.Quality of Work: Attitude, sense of urgency, productivity, individual safety performance, etc.Safety Culture: zero accidents or near missesAttendance: Work schedule as assigned, notify leadership as needed, and no recurring issues.Image: Personal image, and keeps work area/location clean, safe, and organized with no donor creep.Physical Requirements / Work EnvironmentThe ability to continuously stand/walk for the duration of a shift, frequently push/pull, occasionally bend/stoop/crawl/kneel/reach above shoulders, and climb a ladder. Able to lift up to 40 lbs. (fixture parts, cartons of product). An indoor work environment with exposure to outside temperatures.
