Since 1910, the organization has supported women, children, and familiesthrough programs focused on health and wellness, economic empowerment, youth development,housing, and racial justice.Today, YWCA San Antonio serves the community through innovative, community-centeredprograms designed to improve health outcomes, increase economic opportunity, and strengthenaccess to critical services for women and families.Position SummaryThe Program Director of Health Equity provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, andpartnership development for YWCA San Antonio’s health equity initiatives and communityhealth programs. This position leads efforts to expand access to preventative health services,maternal health support, immigrant health navigation, and wellness opportunities for seniorswhile ensuring alignment with YWCA’s mission and community priorities.The Program Director of Health Equity serves as a member of the senior leadership team and overseesprogram operations, grant implementation, partnerships, budgeting, reporting, and staffsupervision related to the organization’s health equity portfolio.Key Responsibilities1. Women’s Health Program- Oversee YWCA San Antonio’s women’s health initiatives focused on access to preventation and supportive health services for women.2. Maternal Health Program - Lead strategy and operations for maternal health initiatives focused on improving outcomes for pregnant and postpartum women.3. Community Outreach & Immigrant Health Navigation4. Senior Fitness & Wellness ProgramQualifications• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or advanced training preferred.• Minimum of 5–7 years of leadership experience in public health, nonprofit management,community health, healthcare administration, or related field.• Demonstrated experience managing community-based health programs and diverse teams.• Strong understanding of health equity, maternal health, preventative health, and communityoutreach strategies.• Experience working with historically underserved communities and culturally responsiveprogramming.• Passion for and willingness to uphold the mission of YWCA San AntonioSkills• Partnership development and community relationship-building• Budget management and financial oversight• Grant contract management and compliance• Grant reporting and program evaluation• Staff supervision and team leadership• Strategic planning and program development• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Public speaking and community engagement• Fund development and collaborative partnership cultivation• Attention to detail and organizational skills• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines• Bilingual English/Spanish preferredOrganizational Requirements:• Support YWCA San Antonio’s mission to eliminate racism and empower women,demonstrating cultural competency and sensitivity to issues of race and gender, proactivelyaddressing biases and stereotypes in the workplace.• Emotionally mature and work effectively with persons from various ethnic and socialeconomicbackgrounds and professions.• Actively promote an inclusive environment by fostering collaboration and respect amongcolleagues of diverse racial and gender identities.• Work cooperatively with others and with diverse groups.• Demonstrate patience and compassion while remaining calm in stressful situations.• Apply critical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusionsin a confidential manner.• Communicate information accurately, clearly and in a timely fashion to all pertinentindividuals.• Work under sometimes demanding conditions while maintaining professionalism andenthusiasm.
