Position Overview: The Pulmonary Nurse plays a critical role in the healthcare team, focusing on the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with respiratory conditions. This position involves developing and implementing individualized care plans to improve patient outcomes and enhance their quality of life. The nurse will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, ensuring that patients receive the necessary treatments and education regarding their conditions. Additionally, the Pulmonary Nurse will monitor patient progress, adjust care plans as needed, and provide support to patients and their families. Ultimately, the goal of this role is to promote respiratory health and empower patients to manage their conditions effectively. Conduct thorough assessments of patients with pulmonary conditions, including obtaining medical histories and performing physical examinations. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and evidence-based practices. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including oxygen therapy and nebulizer treatments. Educate patients and their families about respiratory health, disease management, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and continuity of services for patients. Qualifications: Graduate of RN program. A valid and active California RN license is required. Experience in a clinical setting, preferably in pulmonary or critical care nursing. Certification in Pulmonary or Respiratory Nursing (e.g., CCRN, CPN, AE-C, or COPD-CE). Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Skilled Nursing or Long-Term Care experience is a plus.
