Food Runner

Job Description Summary:Assist servers and kitchen staff by delivering food to guests quickly and accurately, helping maintain smooth service and a high-quality dining experience in a busy Italian restaurant.Key Responsibilities:Deliver plated dishes from kitchen to tables promptly and in correct order.Coordinate timing with servers and kitchen to ensure hot food reaches guests at peak temperature.Verify orders against tickets and check presentation before leaving the pass.Refill water, bread, and basic condiments; clear plates and buss tables when appropriate.Communicate guest requests, allergies, and special instructions to servers and kitchen.Maintain cleanliness of service areas, stations, and runner tray; restock service items.Assist with side work (folding napkins, refilling roll-ups, resetting tables) as assigned.Support hosts and servers during busy periods (greeting guests, guiding seating).Follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures; adhere to allergen protocols.Perform other duties as needed to support front-of-house operations.Qualifications:Previous restaurant or fast-paced service experience preferred but not required.Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.Ability to carry multiple plates/trays safely; stand and walk for extended periods.Quick, attentive, and customer-service oriented with professional demeanor.Basic knowledge of menu items and Italian cuisine a plus.Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.Schedule & Compensation:Part-time or full-time; shifts vary with dining times.Hourly pay plus potential tips; competitive rate discussed at interview.
