Computer Numerical Control Programmer

About the CompanyWe are seeking an experienced NC Programmer to develop, optimize, validate, and support NC programs for CNC milling, turning, mill-turn, and multi-axis machining centers. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with CAM programming, CNC machining strategies, tooling, GD&T, and NC program verification.About the RoleThe NC Programmer will be responsible for developing and optimizing NC programs for various CNC machining processes.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize NC programs for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC milling, turning, mill-turn, and multi-axis machining centers.Generate efficient toolpaths using CAM software such as Siemens NX CAM, Mastercam, CATIA Manufacturing, Creo Manufacturing, or PowerMill.Interpret engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, specifications, and GD&T requirements.Select machining strategies, cutting tools, work holding, cutting parameters, and operation sequences.Create setup sheets, tooling documentation, machining process sheets, and operator instructions.Simulate and verify NC programs to ensure collision-free and efficient machining.Support machine prove-outs and first-piece manufacturing activities.Troubleshoot NC programming and machining issues during production.Review engineering changes and update NC programs as required.Analyze and reduce machining cycle times through continuous process optimization.Support fixture validation and tooling improvement initiatives.Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, Quality, and Production teams.Maintain NC program libraries and related technical documentation.Support Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.Required Skills3–5 years of experience in CNC/NC Programming.Strong hands-on experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC machining.Experience with CNC Turning and Mill-Turn operations.Strong knowledge of High-Speed Machining (HSM) and multi-axis machining strategies.Experience with at least one major CAM platform: Siemens NX CAM, Mastercam, CATIA Manufacturing, Creo Manufacturing, or PowerMill.Experience with CNC controllers such as Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, or Mazatrol.Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings.Knowledge of cutting tools, work holding, fixtures, and machining processes.Experience machining castings, forgings, weldments, and precision-machined components.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.Preferred SkillsExperience with Vericut or NCSimul for NC program verification.Experience with machine prove-outs and first-piece manufacturing.Experience optimizing machining cycle time and reducing scrap.Experience with fixture validation and tooling improvements.
