Job Description Facility & EHS Manager – Advanced Materials Manufacturing Harrison, NJRole OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Facility & EHS Manager to oversee site operations for an advanced materials and superconducting wire development facility.This role will be responsible for:Facility infrastructureEHS programsEquipment maintenanceUtilities and contractor coordinationOperational readiness for pilot-scale manufacturingThe ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced R&D-to-production environment involving thermal processing, rolling equipment, controlled atmosphere systems, and powder handling operations. Key ResponsibilitiesFacility OperationsOversee daily site operations, infrastructure, and utilitiesCoordinate facility expansion, layout optimization, and equipment installationsManage vendors, contractors, and maintenance activitiesEHS & ComplianceDevelop and enforce EHS procedures and safe operating practicesSupport hazardous powder handling protocols and ventilation systemsManage lockout/tagout (LOTO), PPE, chemical hygiene, and emergency response systemsEnsure OSHA and local regulatory complianceEquipment & MaintenanceOversee preventive maintenance programs for:Rolling millsFurnaces/annealersGloveboxesVacuum and gas handling systemsCoordinate troubleshooting and repair activitiesOperational SupportSupport manufacturing readiness and uptimeAssist with inventory, consumables, spare parts, and shop organizationHelp establish scalable operational systems as production grows QualificationsRequired7+ years in manufacturing operations, facilities, or industrial environmentsExperience supporting industrial equipment and maintenance systemsStrong understanding of industrial safety systems and EHS practicesExperience managing contractors and facility operationsPreferredExperience with:Powder handling environmentsControlled atmosphere systemsVacuum or thermal processing equipmentSpecialty metals or advanced materials manufacturing
